Who am I?
I’m a 27 yearold management consultant currently living in London, England. I firstgot interested in microfinance whilst traveling in Latin America and inparticular, whilst working for a small charity, El Puente or TheBridge, in Costa Rica which provided micro-loans to members of thelocal indigenous community.I heard of Kiva a couple of yearsago and was immediately drawn to the way that they provide a source offunding for a wide range of MFIs, whilst also allowing lenders all overthe world complete transparency of how and where their money is beingput to use. I have now been a lender since early 2008 and hope to soonhave one loan fully repaid. Visit my Kiva lender page to find out more about the loans that I have helped to fund.So that’s where the Kiva Fellowship comes in. This summer I was accepted into the KF9 class of the Kiva Fellows Program. I will be heading off shortly for Senegal to work with Kiva’s MFI partner, SEM for a period of 4 months and hope to see first-hand the impact that microfinance is having for SEM’s clients.
